- All members of the Team are at least 13 years of age.
- No member of the Team has been disqualified from any other League of Legends event for hacking/exploitation, stream watching, or unsportsmanlike conduct in the past twelve (12) months.
Registration
Registration for a League Monthly tournament is free. Registration is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Any teams that register after thirty-two (32) registrations will be placed on a backup list. If any team drops out of the Tournament before Round 1, back up teams will be notified and be granted a spot on the Bracket.
When registration for a month begins, Teams can do so on the Register page. The Tournament Administrator reserves the right to invite up to four (4) eligible teams. Registration dates and times for the current month can be viewed on the Schedule page.
Team Roster
A Team consists of one (1) Captain and between four (4) and six (6) Players. Any Team Member may participate in any game. Team Members are chosen before draft begins. (You cannot swap players based on picks/bans). If a Team plays any game with a player who is not on the Team (a ringer), the Team is immediately disqualified and removed from the Tournament.
Captains who wish to make a change to their Team Roster may do so before registration ends. This may be done by emailing the Tournament Administrator at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Roster changes submitted after registration ends will be ignored. The date and time of the current month's registration dates can be found on the Schedule page.
Team Rosters for all Teams will be posted once registration is over.
Check-in
All Team Captains must add the summoner "eSportsMonthly" to their friends list. Check-in opens one (1) hour before the tournament begins and ends fifteen (15) minutes before the tournament begins. Team Captains must check-in with "eSportsMonthly" within this timeframe or risk disqualification from the tournament. In addition, all Team Captains must join the chat channel "eSportsMonthly" in order to promote communication among the Tournament Staff and Players.
Bracket and Rounds
League Monthly is a thirty-two (32) team, five (5) round, single-elimination tournament. Teams who placed (1st-4th) in the previous month's League Monthly will be seeded based on their previous standing. All other teams will be seeded based on an average of the Players' Solo Queue Elo, below returning teams. The bracket for the current month's tournament can be found on the Bracket page. Rounds are played as follows:
- Round 1 (Round of 32): Best of 1
- Round 2 (Round of 16): Best of 1
- Round 3 (Round of 8): Best of 1
- Semi-finals (Round of 4): Best of 1
- Bronze Match: Best of 3
- Finals: Best of 3
At the beginning of a Round, the Team with the higher seed may choose to pick first (Blue Team, left side), or pick second (Purple Team, right side). If a Round has more than one game, Teams must switch sides between games. The highest seed is "1".
A list of dates and start times for the current month's Tournament can be found on the Schedule page of the eSports Monthly website. All Rounds must be played at the listed time. The official Tournament time can be found on the front page of the eSports Monthly website.
Teams must have five (5) Team Members to play at the start of a Round. A ten (10) minute grace period is allowed. If a Team does not have five (5) Team Members after ten (10) minutes, the Team forfeits a game. After twenty (20) minutes, the Team forfeits the Round and is removed from the Tournament. In the case that both Teams forfeit a Round, the Team with the higher seed will advance to the next Round. Please note that Teams who are late due to playing a previous Round are not penalized.
Captains must contact one another well in advance of the beginning of a Round.
Reporting Results
Captains must take a screenshot of the score screen after each game. At the end of a Round, the winning team's Captain must upload the screenshots (or link to screenshots) to the Bracket. Once this is done, the Captain may advance his/her team on the bracket. If a Teams’s opponent has forfeited due to being a no-show, the Captain must receive approval from the Tournament Administrator before advancing.
Sportsmanship and The Summoner's Code
Player's must abide by The Summoner's Code at all times. There is a zero-tolerance policy on the following:
- Hacking/exploitation - Use of any game exploits or 3rd party program not deemed legal by the Tournament Administrator or Tournament Staff to gain an advantage
- Unsportsmanlike Conduct - Racist, sexist, homophobic and other unsportsmanlike comments both in-game and in the eSportsMonthly chat channel. This includes excessive swearing.
- Stream watching/ghosting - Attempting to gain an advantage by watching the stream of an opposing Player/Team
- Reporting a win without uploading a screenshot or receiving approval from the Tournament Administrator.
The Tournament Administrator and Tournament Staff reserve the right to penalize any player and/or teams they find to be violating the above rules. Penalties may include:
- Suspension of a player from current and/or future League Monthly tournaments
- Disqualification of a team
- Replay of game
- Loss of game
Real life threats of violence are taken very seriously. If a Player makes such a threat to another Player or Tournament Staff, the Player's Team will be immediately disqualified and the Player will be banned from all future eSports Monthly tournaments. In addition, the Player will be reported to Riot Games and local authorities.
Winning
A Team wins the Game when they bring their opponents Nexus to zero (0) hit points or if their opponent forfeits the Game via the in-game system.
Chat
During the Game, only Team Captains may use All Chat. An exception to this rule is at the beginning and end of the game where "glhf", "gg" and similar are allowed.
Disconnections
If a player disconnects form the game within three (3) minutes of the beginning of the game and if neither Team has scored a kill or destroyed a turret, the game must be restarted with the same champions. If neither of the above conditions are true, the Game must continue as normal. The disconnected player can and should attempt to rejoin the Game.
Spectators
All games must allow spectators. If a Team's match is being shoutcasted on the eSports Monthly stream, the shoutcasters must be invited to the game before it starts.
Prize Distribution
Prizes are provided by Riot Games. Following the end of the tournament, eSports Monthly will send the final results to Riot, who will credit the prizes directly to the Player's accounts. At least 8 teams must compete or Riot will not provide prizes. Only five (5) Players per team are eligible to receive prizes. The Team Captain of the winning teams must inform the Tournament Administrator of which five (5) Team Members are to receive prizes. If no such information is provided within 24 hours of the end of the tournament, the first five (5) Players on the original registration form will be submitted.
Please note that while prizes are provided by Riot Games, they are not a Tournament sponsor and have no affiliation with eSports Monthly.
Administrator Support and Dispute Resolution
The Tournament Administrator and Tournament Staff will be available for online support during the tournament. Any decision made by the Tournament Administrator and Tournament Staff is final.
